HAUTE COUTURE

Maurizio Galante haute couture celebrates a body of work that spans over 30 years of the French couturier and designer’s career. Galante is one of the world’s most respected haute couture fashion designers, having won numerous awards, and in 2008 was appointed Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Minister of Culture in recognition of his contribution to the French fashion industry.

After studying architecture and then fashion at the Accademia della moda e del  costume in Rome, Maurizio Galante moved to Paris. He presented his collections as an official member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture. His fashion house is part of this closed circle of prestigious Parisian houses who are entitled to this recognized label.

The work of Maurizio Galante can be defined as a perfect balance between sophistication and discretion, rigor and poetry, pace and modernism, tradition and innovation.

His creations, in many areas it addresses, are “objects of desire”, “conversation pieces” destined to elicit emotions. His inspiration and his approach embrace and transfigure traditional craftsmanship in exquisite designs, stylish and contemporary.

Maurizio Galante creations are included in the permanent collections of major international Fashion and Art museums and he has participated in various exhibitions, including the Victoria & Albert museum in London, the Museum of Decorative Arts in the Louvre in Paris, Galliera museum in Paris, Kyoto Fashion Museum, MOMA museum of modern art in    New York, Grand Palais in Paris, the Museum of Art and Industry in  Saint Etienne, la Triennale museum in Milan, and MUDAM Modern Art Museum in Luxembourg, and Pompidou Centre in Paris.
